Who We Are
Our Values

At Virtue, we believe that true fulfilment is found in the pursuit of excellence. While we are constantly striving to improve, we equally value the lessons in both challenge and achievement.
As a team, we support one another, fostering resilience, growth, and a genuine sense of contentment. We are driven by a desire to evolve and guided by a deep curiosity to explore our potential.
We understand that balance and commitment are essential to long-term success — rest must complement hard work, and discipline must support ambition.
We do not wait for opportunities; we create them through clear vision, structured planning, and consistent execution.
We hold ourselves to high standards of accountability and transparency. We believe in the power of habits, consistency, and discipline, and we take pride in the process as much as the outcome.
Above all, we are committed to serving others — contributing positively to the lives of those around us while continuing to grow ourselves. We strive to be role models and sources of inspiration, always grounded in humility and respect.

Virtue BJJ is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy offering high-quality training in self-defence, anti-bullying, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and private coaching.
In addition to our programs, we provide a range of premium apparel, including hats, hoodies, shirts, shorts, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu uniforms.
Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is carefully designed to deliver a unique and structured training experience. While students develop effective self-defence skills, our primary focus is on building the confidence, awareness, and composure needed to avoid conflict whenever possible.
Widely recognised as one of the most effective martial arts in the world, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides a practical and intelligent approach to self-defence. At Virtue BJJ, our curriculum follows a progressive sequence of movements and techniques, helping each student develop at their own pace and achieve their personal best.

The Art

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu began in 1914 when Japanese judo master Mitsuyo Maeda arrived in Brazil and taught his art to Carlos Gracie. Carlos and his younger brother Hélio Gracie modified these techniques. They focused heavily on ground fighting, leverage, and joint locks so a smaller person could defeat a larger opponent.
In the 1990s, the art gained global fame when Royce Gracie won the early Ultimate Fighting Championship events against much bigger fighters from other disciplines. This success transformed Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu into a worldwide sport and a required skill for modern mixed martial arts. Today, it continues to grow through international competitions and specialized no-gi grappling format
